    KESRU Kerala Self Employment Scheme for the registered unemployed is a self Employment Scheme initiated by National Employment Service, Government of Kerala in 1999.

    All educated and registered unemployed candidates in the Employment Exchange between the age group of 21 years - 40 years are eligible to apply for the KESRU Scheme. The Bank loan amount is acceptable upto Rs. One Lac (1,00,000/-) for beginning of self employment enterprise. 20% of govt. subsidy of loan amount will be provided to the candidate through Employment Department. The spouse of the candidate or the parents of the candidate will be the guarantors. The contribution of applicant is not compulsory.

    Who are Eligible for KESRU Scheme:

    <$>. Any unemployed youth or person who is in live register of employment Exchange is eligible to apply under the scheme.

    <$>. The applicant must be between the age group of 21 years to 50 years.

    <$>. The applicant’s family income must not be more than Rs. Fourty Thousand (40,000/-) and their individual income must be below Rs. Five Hundred ( 500/-) per month.

    <$>. The applicant’s Educational qualification must suits the project selected. The exchange will give the preference to those who have professional and technical qualification and beneficiaries of unemployment dole scheme.

    <$>. The students are not eligible to apply under the scheme.


    @>} The candidates can get the application form from the employment exchange where the candidate is registered free of cost. The candidate need to submit the same along with the project report and Income Certificate from the Village Officer.

    @>} The Employment Exchange after verification, the eligible application are forwarded to the District Employment Exchnge concerned for Scrutiny.

    @>} The District Employment Exchange submit the scrutinized application to the District Committee for sanctioning loan through Nationalised Banks, District Co-operative Banks, Scheduled Banks and KSFE.

    @>} The District Committee is the sanctioning authority for KESRU and District Panchayat President is the Chairman and Employment Officer is he convener. Whereas the Regional Deputy Director of Employment is the appellate authority.

    @>} KESRU beneficiaries will not be submitted against temporary vacancies but will be considered for regular vacancies.

    Whom to Appeal:

    In case of rejection of application related to Employment Exchange level verification, the Applicant can submit his appeal to the concerned Regional Deputy Director of Employment

    Monitoring Authority:

    The Director of Employment is the controlling officer of the scheme. The scheme is monitored through the Employment Officers(Self Employment) of the concerned District Employment Exchanges.
