    This scheme can cover professional, technical as well as non professional and non technical courses at various levels which include correspondence courses which also cover distance and continuing education. This scheme is introduces in year 1944 – 45 and has been revised from time to time.

    Salient features
    • This scholarship is available students who can study in India.
    • The state government and UT to which applicant actually belong award the scholarship.
    • A centrally sponsored scheme implements by state government and union territory administrations.
    • It also covers central assistance to state/ UT for setting up book banks
    • It also covers financial assistance to scheduled tribe students study at post matriculation or post secondary stage.
    • There is 100% central assistance over and above committed liability of state government/ UT administration form the government of India

    Eligibility for apply scholarship
    1. This scholarship is given to students whose parents/ guardian income from all sources does not more than RS 2.50 Lakh per annum.
    2. Children are eligible form same parents/ guardian.
    3. The students who can belong to schedules tribe are passed the matriculation or higher secondary or any higher examination of a recognize university or board of secondary education are eligible for scholarship.
    4. The students who can study form correspondence are eligible
    5. Students are eligible for scholarship services for study of all recognized post matriculation or post secondary courses in recognize institute except certain identified training course like aircraft maintenance engineer courses, private pilot license courses and other
    6. Employed student on leave without pay for entire duration of a full time courses are eligible for given scheme.
    7. They can’t take any other scholarship if they have students are not eligible for it.
    8. The students who can receive coaching in any of pre examination training center with financial assistance from the government are not eligible for it.
    Benefits are taken for scholarship
    @> Scholar are paid for fess for enrollment/ registration, tuition, games, Union, Library, Magazine, Medical Examination and such other fees compulsorily payable by the scholar to the Institution or University/Board.
    RS 1, 600 per annum are giving to student for study tour charge

    @> For typing and printing charge up to RS 1, 600 for research scholar

    @> Additional allowance to ST student with disabilities at prescribed rate for different degree of disability

    @> Annual allowance of RS 12, 00 for Essential/ prescribed book, besides reimbursement of course fees to correspondence course students

    (i) Degree and Post Graduate level courses including M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post Doctoral research in Medicine (Allopathic, Indian and other recognized systems of medicines), Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary & Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance /Administration, Computer Science/ Applications.

    (ii) Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and multiengine rating) course.

    (iii) Post Graduate Diploma courses in various branches of management & medicine.

    (iv) C.A./ I.C.W.A./ C.S./ I.C.F.A. etc.

    (v) M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post Doctoral Programmes (D. Litt., D.Sc. etc.) –
    1. a) In existing Group II courses
    2. b) In existing Group III courses
    (vi) L.L.M.
    Hosteller (RS 1200), day scholar (RS 550)

    Group II
    (i) Graduate/ Post Graduate courses leading to Degree, Diploma, Certificate in areas like Pharmacy (B Pharma), Nursing (B Nursing), L.L.B, B.F.S, other para medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics etc., Mass Communication, Hotel Management & Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Art, Financial Services (e.g. Banking, Insurance, Taxation other) for which entrance qualification is minimum Sr. Secondary (10+2).

    (ii) Post Graduate courses not covered under Group-I e.g. M.A./M.Sc./M.Com./M.Ed./M.Pharma etc.
    Hosteller (RS 820), day scholar (RS 530)

    Group III
    All other courses leading to a graduate degree not covered under Group I & II eg. BA/ B Sc/ B Com etc.
    Hosteller (RS 570), day scholar (RS 300)

    Group I V
    All post-matriculation level non-degree courses for which entrance qualification is High School (Class 10), e.g. senior secondary certificate (class 11 and 12); both general and vocational stream, ITI courses, 3 year diploma courses in Polytechnics, etc.
    Hosteller (RS 380), day scholar (RS 230)

    @> Degree courses maximum limit of RS 7, 5000 for a set of books for two students and for post graduate courses RS 5, 000 per students.
